ITEC 1018 – Linux Essentials

Course Overview

ITEC 1018 or Linux Essentials covered the basic Linux terminal and the Bash script. It covered the basics and history of Linux and GNU as well as what and who currently use Linux. It explained how the Linux file system and how basic commands work. It explained file and directory permissions as well as simple networking commands. It explained the basics of the file editors, Vi and nano.

Course Reflection

I learned how to use Linux better than I had before. I understand how to use the Linux terminal efficiently and how to get all the needed information from it. I can now do more things with Linux then I had before and am comfortable using it daily if needed. I can troubleshoot simple things now and really understand where the problems stem from.
