Course Overview

ITEC 1025 Network Fundamentals was about how computers communicate and the protocols that allow that to happen. It described what different networks are and how they relate as well as the different mediums data is transferred on in a network. It discussed LANs and WANs and the protocols that go with each. It described the OSI model and how everything in networking can be brought back to it. It defined network typologies as well as IP addressing. It discussed network sub-netting as well as the basics of IPv6.

Course Reflection

I learned about the basics of how networks work and interact as well as how to implement them in a LAN environment. I learned the basics of sub-netting as well as the basics of Windows servers. I learned how to get network related information from the windows command line. I learned about the OSI model and how different layers interact.
