Course Overview
ITEC 1357 CompTIA A+ Essentials was about teaching a general knowledge of computer hardware and the basics of computer networking. It’s main focus is to prepare someone to take the 220-1001 CompTIA A+ exam. This course does that well, it covers all aspects that is required to know for the test as well as it has a lot of great labs to compliment the reading material. These hands on labs covered many areas, from setting up a simple SOHO wireless router to taking apart a PC and putting it back together. It teaches you about networking peripherals such as making networking cable as well as testing it. It teaches you all you need to pass the A+ 1001 exam.
Course Reflection
Most of the material in the course just broadened my previous knowledge about each subject. I learned most from the labs, like troubleshooting why a second monitor would not work, or creating multiple network patch cables. I now know more about macOS and iOS than I did previously as well as I know more about how Windows works.
