Course Overview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

ITEC 2213 or CompTIA Security+ teaches you about how to administrate networks and end systems from a security perspective. From simple group policies to cracking passwords to see how vulnerable they can be. Security+ specifically teaches you how to make and keep a computer secure and why. The goal of the class is to prepare you for the CompTIA Security+ certification exam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Course Reflection<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This course definitely built upon ITEC 1050 – Cybersecurity Essentials. I learned even more in depth about different threats, attacks and vulnerabilities. As well as I learned about different tools and technologies such as: firewalls, NIPS & NIDS, port security, VLANs, VPNs, Encryption and Cryptography and PKI. I would say it focused a lot on PKI and risk management as well as Authentication and Authorization. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
