Body Types vs. Lock Types
There are a few main types of bodies or profiles: padlock, cylinder, interchangeable core, and Euro. There are also many different types of locks themselves, these reside in the body/profile. Some examples of locks are pin tumbler, dimple, warded, and magnetic. Pin tumbler locks are the most common as well as the most commonly picked.
